Raung (Indonesian: Gunung Raung) is one of the most active volcanoes on the island of Java in Indonesia. It is located in the province of East Java and has a 2-kilometre-wide (1.2 mi) and 500-metre-deep (1,600 ft) caldera surrounded by a grayish rim. The difference in color of the rim and the flanks of the volcanoes is caused by the rim’s lack of vegetation compared with the healthy and extensive vegetation on the flanks. Raung, standing almost 3,332 metres (10,932 ft) above sea level, is the tallest volcano of this cluster. Although the valleys between the major volcanoes boast fertile, ash-enriched soil for agriculture, available land is very limited. Raung contains centres constructed along a NE to SW line, with Gunung Suket and Gunung Gadung stratovolcanoes being located to the northeast and west, respectively. Mount Raung can be seen from Lovina Beach, Singaraja, North Bali. The normal route climbing is through Bondowoso and Sumber Wringin. Its earliest recorded eruption was in 1586 which resulted in fatalities; between 1586 and 1817 five more deadly eruptions were recorded.

1

DAY 01 SURABAYA – BONDOWOSO (L,D)

Transfer In – Sumber Wringin Village/Bondowoso (Raung Mountain)

1. Upon arrival at Juanda Airport, meet and great with our guide.

2. Then transfer to  Sumber Wringin, a village on the  slop of Raung Mountain.

3. Late afternoon arrive at Bondowoso.

2

DAY 02 BONDOWOSO (B,L,D)

Sumber Wringin Village/Bondowoso – Pondok Motor –Passing Shrubbery Plant until Pine Tree Forest - Pondok Angin Campsite

1. After having breakfast, meet guide and porter at Sumber Wringin guest house.

2. Then transfer by jeep 4WD to  Pondok Motor post for start trekking.

3. Simple Lunch, will be served at Pondok Sumur Post, after this point is uphill path, passing shrubbery plant until pine tree forest.

4. Late afternoon arrive at Pondok Angin Camp site. Located on the rocky stone on the foot of raung peak.

5. Stay overnight in tent, the guide team will cook your meals.

3

DAY 03 BONDOWOSO (B,L,D)

Pondok Angin – Summit Mt. Raung – Sumber Wringin Village/Bondowoso

1. After Sunbright, then ascend to Raung Peak (3,332 M asl). It will take  1,5 hours ascending the Sandy Path and Rocky Stone.

2. After arrive at summit and take some picture of One Big Caldera of Raung Mountain,After enjoy panoramic then back to Pondok Angin and get your breakfast.

3. After  that,  continue trekking to Sumber Wringin.

4. Stay overnight at Bondowoso.

DAY 04 BONDOWOSO – SURABAYA (B)

Sumber Wringin Village/Bondowoso – Transfer Out Juanda Airport 

1. After having breakfast.

2. Then transfer to Juanda Airport/Surabaya or next destination.
